Less Swing is Better for the Volley: Are you trying to learn to volley but have trouble to restrain yourself from swinging at the ball? Next time you are out on the court, start hitting the volley by actually choking up on the racket. How far do you need to choke up? Start by holding the racket at the throat of the racket, which is the frame above the grip. That will give you better control of the racket and will reduce the amount of swing significantly. Once you feel the control, you can start to move the grip down step by step and eventually you can hold the racket the way you normally do. |
